#milaOOTD: Pretty Messy

Kids should be allowed to get messy! That's a rule in my household.

My mother kept nagging me how I should always carry a small plastic with towel wet with alcohol so I can easily clean up Mila when she gets messy. Same thing she did when I was little, she said. Well, aside from there's baby wipes now, I just think it's counter productive to stop Mila on her play just to clean her up. Kids will get messy no matter what. Might as well let her enjoy and take her own sweet time exploring everything around her. I have a healthy happy baby, so I don't worry much.

  1. I also think it's important for a kid to get messy and play outside. I never played outside when I was a kid. I know! Boring much. I was always cooped up inside the house with my books. O kita mo, lampa na sakitin pa! :) Kaya I promised myself that I will allow my baby to play and enjoy.

  2. Learned my lesson, I let my gets get messy without worrying about the amount of dirt they gather! Unless we have to eat afterwards. I just give them a thorough bath when we get home.

Yes, being messy is part of being a kidsy! I let my youngest son play with the soil and whatever dirty stuff we got in our yard. I just make sure there's nothing there that will hurt him like a sharp tool or something.

  7. Guilty mommy! I always carry a bag of wipes, alchohol and change of clothes, especially when my children were younger. My youngest contracted a disease when he was 5 months old, which placed him in ICU for 2 months. Now that they are older I try to be okay with explore play, but still has my ever ready wipes or alchohol woth me.

  8. Hay naku same tayo! Ako I feel happy when my son is messy and sweaty. Alas, it can't always be the case since my dad is a germaphobe. Grandparents nga naman!

  9. I also let my daughter get messy and play outdoors. It makes her happy and learn more about nature and her environment. So yeah, yessy to getting messy! Thank you for sharing. :)

  10. You're right, kids will always get messy, and they enjoy being messy. Lol! My son is almost 9 years old, but he still gets messy when he eats. I guess I just have to learn to live with that and allow him to still be a kid because in reality, he's still very much my baby. -- Maria Teresa Figuerres
